Transforming lives through music and yoga

Get inspired and energised at Byron Spirit Festival with acclaimed musician, social entrepreneur and yogi, Edo Khan.

The Byron Spirit Festival is a chance to escape from the every day and experience spiritual and personal transformation. The weekend-long festival offers workshops and concerts for the whole family.

Programmed to help you find your inner zen, the event includes everything from yoga and meditation to dance and healing.

One artist returning to the festival is Edo Khan, co-founder/CEO of A Sound Life, Australia’s first charity to transform the lives of people in need through free music, yoga and meditation programs.

Edo is an internationally acclaimed musician, yoga and meditation teacher, and social entrepreneur. Through all of his work, he is passionate about transforming lives, empowering individuals and uniting communities.

Excited to be back, Edo said the festival is special because of its “family-friendly vibes and positive energy.” Not to mention the amazing quality of the teachers and performers, and the wide variety of workshops and concerts.

Edo will be running workshops covering mantra and Bhakti yoga as well as a sound healing session. Edo always wanted to create music that was uplifting and spiritual. He found that connection in mantra music as one half of the much-loved duo Edo & Jo.

“Mantra is the cornerstone to everything I do,” said Edo. “Everything that we practice in yoga started in mantras.

“You can practice all the aspects of yoga just by chanting.”

His practice lead him to start A Sound Life with his partner Jo. Having seen the healing impact that yoga and music could have on underprivileged communities in India and Indonesia, they were inspired to do something positive themselves. Sadly, Jo passed away in 2015 but Edo has continued their legacy.

How to support A Sound Life

A Sound Life is the charity partner for Byron Spirit Festival. When you purchase tickets, you can choose to donate $10 to A Sound Life, which goes to supporting a music or meditation session.

“We believe everyone deserves access to music, yoga and meditation,” said Edo.

For those with the time and skill, A Sound Life is always looking for volunteers.
