Make your own eco-friendly shampoo

Hair products are often over-run with numerous chemicals, which are not only bad for the environment but also for our locks.

For a simple recipe for eco-friendly homemade shampoo, add one tablespoon of baking powder to two tablespoons of water. Rub this solution into your scalp before rinsing thoroughly.

For dry hair, try an avocado, milk and honey recipe. To a blender add the flesh of one avocado, a tablespoon of honey and half a cup of milk. Blend until smooth and use directly on hair. Make sure you rinse thoroughly. If there is excess, you can keep it in a resealable container for up to three days.

For oily hair, try honey, seaweed and lemon shampoo. To a large bowl, add a quarter of a cup of dried seaweed, one tablespoon of honey and the juice of one lemon. Mix this thoroughly and leave for half an hour before applying to the scalp.
