The Australian International Airshow and Aerospace & Defence Exposition will be held from March 3-5 at Avalon Airport in Geelong. The event is in its 13th year and will be the most comprehensive yet.
The airshow comprises two separate, but complementary, events. The first, the Australian International Airshow, is a three-day spectacular of flying acrobatics and aircraft displays. Taking place at the same time, the Australian International Aerospace & Defence Exposition is a major trade event for Australia’s aviation, aerospace and defence industries.
Prepare for a seriously impressive display of military might, from simulated combat manoeuvres to re-enactments of famous Australian Army land battles with authentic period uniforms, vehicles, artillery and weaponry.
Jet fighters, strike bombers and attack helicopters from the Royal Australian Air Force, Royal Australian Navy and Australian Army will take to the air over the weekend. You won’t want to miss the moment the most comprehensive collection of World War II aircraft take to the skies.
Some of the military aircraft at the show include:
On the ground, you’ll be able to watch military working dogs, listen to an Air Force band and view engineering displays.
There will also be civilian aerobatic daredevils on show. Be wowed by loops, barrel rolls, precision manoeuvres and formation flying. Performers include the famous Sky Aces aerobatic team and experienced stunt pilot, Bob Carlton, flying the SubSonex.
Look to the future of aerospace and aviation at the technology showcase. Hundreds of leading inventors will present the latest and most exciting aerospace, aviation and defence innovations.
