Decide what coding language you want to learn

There are a range of coding languages to choose from. Some are easier than other. Python for example was created with an emphasis on readability and is used by google and facebook and other user friendly sites. Javascript is also relatively easy and is used for creating web pages and websites. C and C++ are the hardest languages and are most commonly used for gaming development.

Choose a coding course that suits your needs

Other sites may ask for a small monthly fee but have benefits if you are looking to learn code for a specific purpose. There are plenty of online communities that provide support and guidance for those learning code. Once you get into coding it is helpful to your progression to be part of a network, that can offer advice and answer any questions you may have.  

Read up on coding

When you aren’t practising your coding, you can be reading about it. There are a number of code-specific books available on the market these day that focus on different languages including ‘Learn Python the Hard Way’ and ‘JavaScript: The Good Parts’. Reading about code can be helpful but remember that it has its limits. The best way to learn to code is by practising everyday.
