If you are planning a summer road trip, put these splashtastic water parks on the list.

Take the kids on a summer adventure they will never forget, by visiting the best and most well-known water parks. Be sure to pack plenty of swimmers and bring a waterproof camera to help capture all the best moments and memories.

Cairns Coconut Holiday Park, Qld

Starting the adventure in the north, the Cairns Coconut Holiday Park is known as the ‘most family fun resort’ in northern Queensland. This caravan park offers so much more than just a place to park your van or pitch a tent. The park is only 10 minutes from the city’s esplanade and is the perfect location for kids of all ages. Activities include the Splash water park, a huge adventure playground, and two massive jumping pillows.

Activities for the adults and families include the 18-hole mini golf course as well as a lagoon pool, with hot and cold spas.

Wet’n’Wild Water World, Gold Coast, Qld

Heading further south to the Gold Coast is Australia’s biggest and most popular water park. Wet’n’Wild caters for the whole family, while thrill seekers can find a range of waterslides which are bound to get the heart racing.

Many of the rides have enough space in the rafts to fit the whole family, making this park perfect for families of all sizes. Wet’n’Wild Junior is a new section of the park which features water slides that young kids will love. Many of these slides are miniature versions of the larger thrill rides so the little ones won’t feel like they are missing out.

Big 4 North Star Holiday Resort, Hastings Point, NSW

This holiday park is located along the northern coast of New South Wales and you’ll have no trouble keeping the kids entertained. Sammy’s Adventure Lagoon is a two-storey aqua-play structure with access to four waterslides and Australia’s first water piano. There is plenty to do for other members of the family, such as Neptune’s Castle kid’s club, the Seascape Leisure Centre, or swim laps in the 25metre swimming pool.

NRMA Ocean Beach Holiday Park, Umina, NSW

Following along the path down south, the NRMA Ocean Beach Holiday Park is located on the central coast and is an extremely popular holiday spot. The park is well-known for being located close to Sydney as well as being home to the Splash Away Bay water park. The park is great for children of all ages and is bound to keep them entertained for hours.

For more dry activities the kids will love the go-karts and giant jumping pillows. The park will give you a much-needed break and relaxation time from the kids while they play.

Jamberoo Recreational Park, Kiama, NSW

This water park is perfect for thrill seekers. Some action-packed rides include the Funnel Web where rides reach the speed of 30km/h and the Taipan where five-person raft plunges down a waterslide in total darkness. For those not looking for a thrill, the park is also home to a wave pool, Surf Hill, Billabong Beach, and a Kiddies’ Cove.
