Five top Hervey Bay dining destinations

The seaside resort town of Hervey Bay is more than a gateway to whale watching and Fraser Island’s delights.

There’s plenty for the holiday-maker to experience in Hervey Bay. Enjoy alfresco dining along the waterfront esplanade which links the city’s marina and relaxed beaches, where the calm water is perfect for swimming.

This southern Queensland coastal city is renowned for being the perfect spot to observe humpback whales. During the July to November migration season, a whale watching boat tour is a must-do for visitors. The boats take their passengers out into the bay’s safe and calm waters to see breaching whales and their newborn calves at play.

Hervey Bay is also a launch pad for tours to nearby heritage-listed Fraser Island, which is the largest sand island in the world. The island’s beaches and rainforest habitat are well worth exploring.

After you’ve had your fill of whale watching and water sports at Hervey Bay, here are the top five dining destinations for RACQ Dining Rewards around the bay.
