Gold Coast’s New Year’s Eve fireworks fun

Don’t miss a spectacular New Year’s Eve celebration in Surfers Paradise, when the Gold Coast hosts its biggest fireworks show for the countdown to 2017.

Queensland pyrotechnic wizards Skylighter FireworX will supply five tonnes of the biggest firework shells ever used in Surfers Paradise to fuel three shows for the night.

The first 10-minute show fires up on Surfers Paradise at the family-friendly time of 8pm.

At 10pm, the fireworks focus shifts to the Surfers Paradise Riverside precinct at the Nerang River-end of Cavill Avenue, where the second show will blast off for eight minutes.

And as the clock ticks closer to midnight, it’s back to Surfers Paradise Beach where visitors can welcome in the new year with a dramatic 10-minute fireworks finale from 12am.

It will be a fun-filled night for all, with a thrilling blend of special effects and a Top 40 soundtrack.

There also will be a New Year’s Carnival, with rides for the kids to check out on the Surfers Paradise Foreshore from Tuesday, December 27 to Sunday, January 1.
